plumbing fiesta

i know it's probably hard to get too excited about plumbing, but i will give it a shot here. oh gosh! plumbing is happening here and now! just look at that gleaming copper! like a mystical treasure appearing in my kitchen! but seriously, it was a very good plumbing day. what was supposed to take  4 hours only took  1 1/2 hours. good crew! everyone seems quite determined to get the work done and get right to the next phase.  pretty impressive.

here you see my very own gas shut off valve. another thing i've paid for. all mine.  who knew i would ever want one? but i 'm glad i have it now.

while plumbers did their thing, nathan started work on the new wall, getting ready for electricians to come in wednesday.  things are really happening around here! are you as excited as me? apparently, the original construction crew did some wacky things. chicken wire in odd places, hidden under plaster.  probably to deter errant chickens. maybe that used to be a real problem here in berkeley.

i will get a new back doorbell. i think this is a related wire. when the new kitchen is finished, i will ring it in using this very wire and some other items that all connect up together to make some pretty magical noises.
